Andreas Daub (A*D) Jewelry

Andreas Daub (A*D) is one of the most historically significant and enduring jewelry companies from Pforzheim, the heart of the German jewelry industry. It was founded in 1872 by Andreas Daub, a young goldsmith who quickly recognized the potential for jewelry production with an international focus. By 1900, Andreas Daub was one of the leading jewelry companies in Europe.

Andreas Daub’s success lies in its technical innovation and ability to adapt to changing trends while maintaining high quality. He was a pioneer in Germany for producing high-quality Doublé (also known as Amerikaner or Gold-Filled) jewelry. This process, which mechanically bonds a thick layer of gold to a base metal, allowed them to create durable, high-quality gilt jewelry.

In the post-World War II period (1950s–1970s), Andreas Daub fully embraced the Modernist aesthetic. They produced highly collectible pieces in sterling silver (925) and German silver (835 ) featuring bold, textured, abstract, and geometric designs.
